The album will be released the day after Republic Day, a Malian holiday commemorating the independence of the Republic of Mali from the Federation of Mali on September 22, 1960. The songs played on the album are Vieux's favorites and represent different parts of Ali's career, from well-known songs like "Diarabi," which features Ry Cooder, to obscure songs like "Alakarra. "Vieux followed in his father's footsteps and chose Khruangbin as his It's no surprise that he chose to do so.
