The 3.25" drop point blade is crafted from D2 tool steel — an air hardening, high carbon, high chromium tool steel originally developed for industrial die and punch applications that demand extreme wear and abrasion resistance. Silver Stag heat treats their D2 blades to 62 Rockwell hardness, producing a blade that holds a factory edge through extended periods of heavy field use and hones back to a razor edge when it's time to resharpen. The drop point geometry is the ideal game processing shape — a strong, versatile blade profile that excels at skinning, caping, and field dressing tasks from small game to trophy elk. Note that D2's high chromium content provides good corrosion resistance, but a light coat of oil after use is recommended to keep the blade in peak condition.

The genuine North American deer or elk antler slab handle is where this knife becomes something truly special. Each handle is individually hand shaped, hand polished, and fitted by Silver Stag craftsmen — and because antler is a natural material, no two handles are ever identical.
