Mirrors made from Aubusson cartoon boarders come in a range of styles and sizes. Custom orders are available. Made from an exact copy of an 18th century Aubusson tapestry cartoon boarder. Tapestry cartoons are the life size models from which tapestries are woven, painted in oil on canvas or gouache on paper. The boarders are interchanged depending on the scene for which the tapestry pattern was chosen. 

Interi bought all remaining Aubusson boarders and now owns over a thousand boarders of which we sell either as originals or reproductions of the originals. Theses are stretched onto 18th and 19th century floorboards and finished with antique distressed mirror. Mirror glass can be ordered in various choices of distressing.
