Sculptural 18th century Italian hand-carved leaf fragment mounted with pyrite in magnetite matrix and adorned with natural-forming baroque pearls.

The fragment artifact originally came from Tuscany, Italy. The magnetite emulates the color of the fragment with the gold pyrite coordinating with the gilded aspects of the fragment. The baroque pearls also imitate the giltwood parts of the leaf. Together, the organic specimens and the figurative, historical fragment create a sculptural work of art.
