The Kills are the rock duo of guitarist/singer Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart, who also plays in The Dead Weather. The Kills, along with Arctic Monkeys and Franz Fernando, are one of Domino's leading artists, and their delicate vocals and aggressive, lo-fi guitars have earned them a huge following in the UK rock scene with their garage rock, punk, and blues sound. The band has now released "Little Bastards", an album featuring B-sides and rare recordings, and all remastered songs! The album includes the unreleased demo "Raise Me" (M4) from the "Midnight Boom" period of 2008-2009, Serge Gainsbourg's cover of "I Call It Art" (M8), and the digital bonus track "Night Train" (M5) from "Midnight Boom". and more.Other songs on the album include "Forty Four" (M9), a Howlin' Wolf cover, "I Put A Spell on You" (M16), a Screamin' Jay Hawkins cover, "Sugar Baby" (M20), a Dog Boggs cover, and more, all of which incorporate classic American roots songs into the intense sound they are known for. Her first solo album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Justin Reisen, who has worked with Charlie XCX, Angel Olsen, Eve Tumor, and John Cale of the Velvet Underground. The album was recorded in Los Angeles.The album showcases her unique lyrical ability to mix cultural criticism, exposition, and humor with avant-garde and challenging sound production and charming vocals that are as pale and warm as a watercolor painting, and here we have a record that in many ways is both a recursion and a new departure in her musical career.
