Known for their stunning coloration, peaceful temperament, and adaptability, these hardy little fish are a favorite among both beginner and experienced aquarists. Native to Japan, Orange Medaka Ricefish thrive in a wide range of conditions and can even be kept outdoors year-round in mild climates. Their coloration insensifies under natural sunlight and they have fun personalities.

These fish are adult shrimp-safe, however, we recommend having sufficient plants or hiding spots for aquariums with both Orange Medaka Ricefish and freshwater shrimp. 

Orange Medaka Ricefish are pretty easy to care as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters.  The following are our water parameters we keep them at:

We feed them a mix of frozen brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.
