Winter 2025, during an early morning reconnaissance flight over the Rocky Mountains, observing the untouched powder fields before the resorts opened.

The idea was to capture the sheer scale and purity of the mountain, contrasted by the fleeting, vibrant humanity that interacts with it.

The texture of the snow was achieved by applying a massive amount of white impasto with large, thick trowels, dragging the medium vertically down the canvas to create deep, directional ridges that emphasize the slope's gradient.

The miniature figures of the skiers were then added using just small dabs of highly saturated primary color—red, blue, green, and orange—a deliberate technique to make the movement pop, transforming a monolithic landscape into a lively narrative of sport and scale.
