For sale here is a late 1970's H.L. Leonard Model 39 bamboo rod - 7'6" 2/2 for a 5 weight line. Serial no. 1496. The rod weighs 3 5/8 oz. and is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full-length and straight. Red wraps with green tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Handsome swelled butt. Cigar grip 5 5/8" in length with light soiling. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a beautiful mortised tiger maple spacer. The ferrules are 12/64 an excellent fit. Indented witness marks. The action is quite smooth, on the medium side of medium-fast. Includes original yellow bag with stiffening dowel and original tube.
