This self-help memoir is the story of Brendan O’Shea’s climb out of depression and into a better life. The story starts with a hard-drinking graphic designer trying to figure out why his life is such a mess. It ends with Brendan living in the Sunshine Coast hills in Australia with his wife, making a living as the Mindfulness Mentor. How did he make such a transformation? It’s all about mindfulness.

Brendan was a Buddhist monk for six years, trained as a yoga teacher in Australia and India, studied Transpersonal counselling, became a performance poet and fell in love. And from all the things he did the single most useful thing he found was mindfulness. This book is the story of how that realisation turned his life around.

Despite being a book about depression ‘How Wonderful’ is a very easy read, with a lot of chuckles to be had from its dry humour. Informative without being lecturing, it is a story told with the hope that others can benefit from the author’s experiences and insights.
