The blade is forged by Yamatsuka Hamono, a skilled blacksmith known for producing exceptional traditional Japanese knives. It is then sharpened and finished by Shotaro Nomura, a highly respected master sharpener from Sakai whose craftsmanship is admired by professional chefs and knife enthusiasts alike.
The knife is made from carefully selected Shirogami #2 (White #2) carbon steel, renowned for its exceptional sharpness, ease of sharpening, and ability to take an incredibly fine edge. It is a favourite among many Japanese chefs who value pure cutting performance.
