The robots, created by Dr. Cossack, in this Action-adventure game include Toad Man, Bright Man, Pharaoh Man, Ring Man, Dust Man, etc. Dr. Light in this Nintendo video game once again sends out his most powerful invention called Mega Man to put an end to the evil plans of Dr. Wily. This time in this Action-adventure game, Dr. Light had equipped Mega Man with a newly developed weapon  the Mega Buster". With the help of this weapon, Mega Man in the Mega Man 4 can deliver a more powerful shot on a single hit. After defeating all the robots and thereby clearing all the levels, the player will head towards the castle to defeat Dr. Wily.
