For sale here is a Payne Model 198 bamboo rod, 7'6" 3/2 for a 4 or 5 weight line. The rod is in excellent+ refinished condition. All sections are full length and straight.  The rod weighs 3.80 oz. which is consistent with the weight noted on the original hang tag. Cap and ring reel seat over a Spanish cedar spacer. The agate stripping guide is a replacement. Swelled butt. A classic Jim Payne era rod with the E.F. Payne stamp only. The grip has been cleaned and sanded slightly.  The ferrules are size 16/64 and 10/64 and their fit is excellent. The rod has a crisp medium fast dry fly action. Replacement bag and original labeled tube.
