Balmenach Distillery stands as one of Speyside’s most quietly revered producers — a distillery with deep historical roots and a reputation for robust, characterful spirit. Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Balmenach has been distilling whisky since 1824, making it one of Scotland’s oldest legal distilleries.

Now operated by Inver House Distillers, Balmenach continues to produce its signature full-bodied, rich spirit using time-honoured techniques — including traditional worm tubs, wooden washbacks, and long fermentation periods. The result is a whisky that’s earthy, spicy, and densely textured — unmistakably Speyside, yet entirely distinctive.

Though it has historically flown under the radar, Balmenach is rapidly gaining appreciation among whisky connoisseurs and independent bottlers. The distillery’s spirit has long been a hidden gem in blends, but its single malt is increasingly emerging in limited single cask releases that showcase just how complex and rewarding this whisky can be.

We've got TWO of these 2024 Balmenach Hogsheads sitting at Volpe & Castello bonded warehouse. V&P allow private accounts and we can easily transfer Delivery Order ownership should you wish to do so.
