The Lang Stereotest I-R is suitable for binocular diagnosis and screening of stereo vision disorders in young children of pre-verbal age. This test is the revised and improved version of the Lang Stereotest I named after the Swiss ophthalmologist Joseph Lang, as the optical and printing quality has been improved. In addition, this version has no monocular clues when used correctly.
The Random Dot test card is provided with three random dot stereo objects in different disparities. The test is performed with a reading distance of approx. 30 - 40 cm, without the additional use of glasses to separate the visual impressions. This allows the child's eye movements to be observed without restriction.
| Object | Disparity |
| Cat | 1200 arcseconds |
| Star | 600 arcseconds |
| Car | 400 arcseconds |
