The DAF XF-XG (Euro 6.2) DTC Remover is a compact diagnostic tool designed for truck mechanics and fleet managers. This plug-and-play device connects directly to the truck’s OBD port and is intended to efficiently clear fault codes (DTCs) from the system memory. Besides cleaning up historical fault messages after a repair, this module is often used when a vehicle unexpectedly enters limpmode on the road. By resetting the current fault codes, the power limitation can be temporarily lifted, allowing the driver to safely and controlledly drive the truck to the nearest workshop for further diagnosis.
Once the tool is connected, it immediately communicates via the network with the vehicle’s latest diagnostic communication module. The module sends a signal to various electronic control units (ECUs) – including engine management (PCI2), braking system (EBS 3), and the central vehicle computer (VIC 3) – to clear the stored fault data in the controllers. This reset process removes stored blocks and resets the warning indicators on the dashboard. It is crucial to understand that this tool only clears the electronic fault records; if there is a permanent hardware fault, the ECU will register this fault again after a new system check until the defect is physically repaired.
This device is developed for targeted fault management and quick intervention during breakdowns on the road. It helps save time by resolving software blocks and optimizes the workshop process by clearing unnecessary fault history.
The tool is specifically coded for the latest diagnostic architecture of DAF trucks and supports only models with the Euro 6.2 emission standard and the new diagnostic communication modules.
