12" Handpainted Gond Style - Tribal Face Mask

Painted in a Gond style with birds motifs - this makes for a collecters item. Amalagamation of two crafts Gond & Gomira

These rustic masks were traditionally made by villagers in areas like Jalpaiguri, Dinajpur and others for use in ritualistic gomira mask dances, performed to appease village deities and the forces of nature.

Today, only around 200 artisans and their families still make these masks. We plan to work with them to present more of their traditional designs as part of our wall decor range.

Being hand-made, this product is unique in itself, and its tiny imperfections are what make it special.
