Kiffa beads are glass powder sintered beads with holes, a type of recycled glass bead. They were named 'Kiffa' after R. Mauny, an ethnologist, discovered them around the city of Kiffa in Mauritania in 1949. The most famous ones are isosceles triangles with vertical stripes.
