Dzi Beads are ancient beads from Tibet, created with patterns etched into agate using natural dyes. They are believed to date back to the 1st to 6th centuries AD. Despite their age, the dyes used in the etching process remain a mystery. Primarily found in Tibet, these beads have also been discovered in Bhutan and the Ladakh region of the Himalayas. The different patterns etched into the beads are thought to hold various meanings, with the circular "eye" pattern being particularly prized. In Tibetan culture, Dzi Beads are considered talismans for wealth and prosperity and are cherished as heirlooms. Recently, their popularity has soared in China, where they are known as "Tian Zhu" and numerous replicas are produced. However, authentic ancient Dzi Beads remain extremely rare and valuable.
