The catalogue begins with the establishment of the Kingdom of Hungary in the year 1000 and runs to the collapse of the dynastic union between Hungary and the Southern Netherlands in the closing years of the 18th century. Some 40 Hungarian museums and church collections are lending works of art: precious metal work paintings and sculptures, armoury, costumes and manuscripts from the world famous library of King Matthias Corvinus' renaissance court.
