Description:
New project by Emile, one half of the popular French electro unit Saint-Michel, makes its album debut on InFine! Dreamy yet restrained and minimal, the rhythms are complex and percussive, creating an experimental pop with a mysterious mood! Emile Laroche, a member of the popular 10's French Electro act "Saint Michel" who emerged from the area around Kitsune and Alex Gopher, has teamed up with vocalist Neysa to form a new unit called "UTO (Uto)". Touch the Lock" is their debut album. The preceding singles, "Souvent Parfois," "Heavy Metal," and "This New Phase," are among the first to be released, and all of the songs are dreamy in their synth tones but restrained and minimal in their melodies and songs, while the rhythms are complex and percussive, with a distinctive slow and steady pace. The music is full of a mysterious, experimental mood that will leave you breathless with a sense of urgency reminiscent of punk or free jazz, even though it is electronic in nature. This is unique! This is a release from InFine, one of France's most discerning labels, which has worked with Dina Abdelwahed, Leonie Pernet, Labelle, Gaspar Krauss, and others.
