About Warring States Beads:

The term "Warring States Beads" refers to glass beads made during the Warring States period of China, approximately from the 5th to 3rd centuries BCE, before the unification by Qin. The earliest glass in China, dating back to the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, was excavated in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it was during the Warring States period that glass products began to be widely distributed. Early Warring States beads were primarily made of faience, a type of glazed ceramic, with glass patterns. Later, entirely glass beads were produced. The beads often featured patterns like "Seven Star Beads" or "Eye Beads," characterized by dotted designs. While many techniques and design elements were influenced by West Asian regions, including Roman glass, the material composition of Chinese glass from this era is unique, highlighting the advanced glass-making techniques in ancient China.
