Gogol Bordello, a gypsy punk band led by Eugene Hutz, who also captivates Madonna. Their eighth album, "Solidarity", inspired by the survival in the face of adversity, such as war and pandemics in Hatz's native Ukraine, has been released. We just want to bring the world a timeless album with a message of human potential and power," asserts Eugene Hutz, frontman of GOGOL BORDELLO, about their new album "SOLIDARITINE". Their eighth album is inspired by survival in the face of adversity, a theme that can be applied to pandemics as well as the war going on in Hutz's native Ukraine. SOLIDARITINE is more hardcore-oriented, with a sense of urgency and fresh energy that brings the band back to its early days and brings its adiprotic tendencies to the forefront. With New York underground icon Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Rival Schools, Quicksand) as producer, the band has completed the album. 'This album is about bringing people of good will together.It is not nice to present a work that ignores the current situation in Ukraine," Hutz said. Gogol Bordello was formed in 1999 in New York City by Eugene Hutz (Vocals/Guitar), a native of Ukraine. The sound they create with violin and accordion is called gypsy punk. The band is also known for its live performances, and has appeared at numerous festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Roskill, Rock Am Ring, Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds, Fuji Rock, and Summer Sonic. In 1999, they released their debut album "Vois-La Intruder" on Rubric, and after their second album "Multi Kontra Culti vs. Irony" in 2002, they moved to Side One Dummy. In 2005, they released their third album "Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike" by Steve Albini, and their fourth album "Super Taranta!" (2007) produced by Victor Van Vugt.Since then, they have released their fifth album "Trans-Continental Hustle" (2010) produced by Rick Rubin on American Recordings, their sixth album "Pura Vida" produced by Andrew Scheps on ATO Conspiracy" (2013), and the current new release, their seventh album "Seekers And Finders" (2017). The band performed with Madonna, who triumphed at Live Earth's 2007 London show. Eugene Hutz was also selected to play the main character in Madonna's first film, Wonderlust, released in 2008.
