Note: Due to the antique nature of this item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
These beads are a product of the Indus Valley Civilization, created by drawing patterns on carnelian using a plant-derived natron solution, then firing at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they have also been unearthed in Mesopotamian and Afghan archaeological sites, it is believed that those made in the Indus River region were transported overland and by sea.
