Kiffa Beads are perforated beads made from sintered glass powder, a type of recycled glass bead. They were discovered by ethnologist R. Mauny in 1949 around the city of Kiffa in Mauritania, hence the name 'Kiffa'. The most renowned Kiffa Beads are isosceles triangles with vertical stripes.
